Once the hospital confirms the case, the campaign can be shared with family, friends, organisations and anyone who wants to help.
Funds go to the hospital
Donations are collected through Menda and paid into the hospital's account. The patient does not receive the money personally.

The hospital is part of every campaign
A hospital is reviewed and onboarded by Menda before any of its patients can create a campaign.
No campaign goes live until the hospital has confirmed the patient's details and the bill.

Medical and personal details are encrypted, and handled in line with Nigerian data protection requirements. We collect only what is needed to verify a campaign and process a donation.

When someone needs help paying a hospital bill, their first option is usually to ask the people around them. Family contribute. Friends contribute. Sometimes strangers do too.
The problem is that the people giving often have no way to confirm the bill, or to know where their money ends up.

How do I know a campaign is genuine?
The hospital connected to the campaign verifies the patient's case and the bill before the campaign goes live.
Where does my donation go?
Into the account of the hospital connected to that campaign. You get a receipt every time.
Does Menda charge donors?
No. Donors pay no Menda fee.
Can Menda pay my hospital bill?
Not directly. Menda is not a charity and has no fund of its own. What Menda does is make it possible for other people to help. Start by asking your hospital whether they are on Menda. If they are, you can create a campaign in the app and they will confirm it. If they are not, ask them to get in touch with us. Joining is free for them.
Can the money be paid to me instead?
No. Menda does not pay campaign funds to patients or their families. There is no way in the product to do it.
What happens if a campaign does not reach its target?
Whatever it raised still goes to the hospital and is credited against that patient's bill. Nothing is held back and nothing is returned. The rest of the bill stays what it always was, something the patient settles with the hospital directly.
How much does Menda charge?
3%, once, when funds are paid out to the hospital. A campaign that never pays out is charged nothing. Hospitals join free.
Is Menda a charity?
No. Menda is a medical fundraising platform. It does not run its own charitable fund and does not use its own money to pay medical bills.
